About Molly
Hi, I'm Molly H. Donahue! I'm an immersive director and new works developer currently based in Athens, Ohio while I pursue my MFA in directing from Ohio University. Originally from Virginia, I moved to Chicago after graduating from Christopher Newport University with a BA in Directing and Dramatic Literature.
My time in Chicago was filled with experimentation and new work - I was lucky enough to work with innovative theatres like (re)discover theater and the Barrens Theatre Co.. Through these partnerships I studied and obsessed over immersive theatre in its many forms, and even developed original immersive work alongside amazing artists.
Now, with Ohio University, I am diving even deeper into my own artistic voice. Currently, I am developing a large original immersive play as a part of my thesis.
I am the creator of “Out of Time: a 24hr fest”, an immersive 24 hour play festival in which participants build short immersive plays and a full immersive experience for the audience within 24 hours. I have also given workshops on immersive theatre for stage managers and directors at the South Eastern Theatre Conference.
